How to download a video from X (Twitter)
- Open the public post in the X app or in your browser, tap Share and choose Copy link.
- Paste the link into the box above and press Analyze link.
- Pick Video or Audio, then the option you want. Only options that really exist for that post are listed.
- Press Download and wait until the file is ready.
Which X (Twitter) links are supported
VideoDownGo accepts the address of a public post that contains a video or GIF, on x.com or twitter.com, for example:
x.com/<name>/status/…twitter.com/<name>/status/…x.com/i/status/…- short
t.co/…links that lead to such a post
Tracking parameters at the end of the address, such as ?s=20, are ignored. The same post under x.com or twitter.com is treated as one post.
What is not supported
- Protected accounts, posts that ask you to log in, and posts that were deleted or are no longer available.
- Profiles, searches, lists, communities, messages, Spaces and live broadcasts. These are not a single video.
- Posts that only contain photos or text.
VideoDownGo does not ask for your X login and does not use accounts or cookies to access content, so anything that requires a login cannot be processed.
Posts with several videos and GIFs
If a post contains more than one video, VideoDownGo provides the first video of the post. A GIF on X is stored as a short video without sound: it is offered as a video and, because it has no audio track, there is no audio option.
Video and audio options
X decides which versions of a video exist. VideoDownGo lists the resolutions X provides for that video and does not invent sizes, frame rates or formats. When X provides a separate audio stream you can also save the original audio or an MP3, without downloading the video. If a post has no separate audio stream, there is no audio option.
Use it for videos you own or are allowed to save
A video being public does not mean you may reuse it freely. The creator keeps their rights, and music or other material inside a video may have its own license. Download your own videos, videos you have permission to save, or content whose license allows it, and follow the terms of the platform. Temporary files
Your file is stored privately and temporarily: the download link expires after a few minutes and the file is removed automatically after about a day. VideoDownGo does not keep a library of downloaded videos. See the privacy policy for how long operational records are kept.
If a link does not work
- The post is protected, removed or needs a login. Open it in a private browser window; if you cannot watch it there without logging in, it cannot be processed.
- The post has no video. Only posts with a video or GIF can be processed.
- The link is a profile, search or other page. Copy the address of the individual post.
- A shortened link. It must lead to a public post with a video. If it does not work, open it in a browser and copy the final x.com address.
- A temporary problem. X changes often and may limit automated access. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Does it work with protected accounts or private posts?
No. VideoDownGo only works with public posts that open without logging in. Protected accounts and anything that requires an account are not supported.

What happens if a post has several videos?
VideoDownGo provides the first video of the post.
Can I save a GIF from X?
Yes, when the post is public. X stores a GIF as a short silent video, so it is offered as a video and there is no audio option.
Why did my link fail?
The post may be protected, removed, without a video, or a different type of page, the link may be shortened, or X may be limiting automated access for a while. Check that the post opens in a normal browser tab without logging in, then try again later.
